What is SGTingXie?
SGTingXie is an app that helps Singapore primary school students practise Chinese dictation (听写/默写). Upload a photo of the assignment, and we generate audio and grading automatically — so your child can practise independently.
How does it work?
Snap a photo of the assignment sheet. Our AI extracts the words, generates spoken audio for each word, and creates a full dictation test recording. After your child writes their answers, upload a photo of their handwriting and we grade it instantly.
Is it free?
You get 3 free sessions to try it out — no credit card required. After that, choose the Basic plan ($3.90/month) for 1 child or the Pro plan ($6.90/month) for a family of 2–3 children. Yearly plans are also available.
How many sessions can I create?
Free accounts get 3 sessions total. Basic subscribers can create up to 15 sessions per month, and Pro subscribers up to 40 per month. Counters reset at the start of each month.
How do I create sessions for multiple children?
Each session is independent — just name them clearly (e.g. "Emma Week 10", "Ethan Week 10"). You can create as many sessions as your plan allows, all from the same account.
How long are sessions stored?
Free-tier sessions are deleted after 30 days. Basic plan sessions are stored for 3 months, and Pro plan sessions for 6 months. If you cancel your subscription, sessions are kept for 30 days after that.
How accurate is the AI grading?
The grading uses advanced AI vision to read handwriting and compare it character by character. It works well for neat handwriting, but may struggle with very messy writing. We recommend using it as a practice tool, not a final score.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, and HEIC (iPhone photos) are all supported. Maximum file size is 5 MB.
Do you have an English version?
Not at the moment. SGTingXie is designed specifically for Chinese dictation practice in Singapore primary schools. We may consider other languages in the future.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime from the Billing page. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period, and your sessions will be kept for 30 days after that.
